We don't talk much of English with the kids at home, so it is understandable that they have funny English sometimes. In addition, we didn't grow up speaking English.. we started using the language literally when we came to the state for college years ago. They are mostly exposed to English only through church's classroom, school (for Uriah, Thea is not in school yet), and through DVDs that I borrowed from the library.
A while ago the kids were crazy with flashlights. They will play with them for hours at a time. They would turn it on & pretending to look for things, and we told them that one only turns it on when it is dark, so that one doesn't waste the battery. We told them they could go into the closet to turn it on. One afternoon, they both got a flashlight in their hand.. and Uriah asked Thea to come with him to play the flashlight.
Uriah: "Do you want to go into the darkness, Mei(妹妹)?"
:) :) :)
Another thing is, they like to play under the table. Also under the computer desk. We told them it is very dangerous, because there are lots of cable and ab outlet surge underneath the table. So we always told them not to play under the computer desk. One time, Thea was playing under the desk and Uriah asked her: "Meimei, do you want dangerous?"
